How-To Hard Boil Eggs (Adding Avocados)

Pairing these two simple ingredients together, brings a beautiful healthful meal to the table. With added arugula or greens it makes a beautiful presentation for any party.

Serves: 4-8
Hard-Boiled Eggs
  • 4 eggs
  • 4 ripened avocados
  • A splash of olive oil or lemon
  • Pinch of salt and pepper
  • Chopped herbs of your choice (optional)
  • 1 saucepan with lid
How to Hard-Boil Eggs
  1. Place eggs in a saucepan in a single row. Do not overcrowd.
  2. Fill saucepan with water 1-2 inches of water above eggs.
  3. Bring the pan to boil and immediately reduce to simmering.
  4. Simmer for exactly 6 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat, cover, and allow to sit for 10 minutes.
  6. Eggs can also be placed in cold water to cool, before peeling.
  7. Tap the shells with the back of a spoon to crack them.
  8. Start at the rounded end of the egg where the air sack is, and peel off the shells under a trickle of cold running water.
  9. The water will run between the solid egg white and the shell making it easier to peel.
Avocado with Eggs
  1. Hard-boil the eggs, peel, and slowly cut eggs in half with a sharp knife.
  2. (Swipe knife with paper towel after each cut for a clean cut)
  3. Cut avocados in half and remove the pit.
  4. Sprinkle the avocados lightly with lemon to keep them from turning brown.
  5. Add the egg to the center of each avocado. Gently press into hole.
  6. Sprinkle with fresh lemon or olive oil.
  7. Add salt and pepper.
  8. Add chopped herbs.
  9. Serve as is, or place salad greens on the plate and place on top.
